ELEPHANT MAN FOR HOT 97 SUMMER JAM
Without a doubt, one of the hottest jams for the summer is the Hot 97 Summer Jam.
Scheduled to take place on June 7 at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey, the organizers make every effort to select artistes from every genre who are in keeping with the image of the show — HOT.
Representing the dancehall, will be the energy god himself, Elephant Man, who bas been on a rollicking roll with songs such as Nuh Linga and Sweep. Known for his feverishly hot performances which sometimes see him climbing atop speaker boxes and doing other daredevil stunts, Elephant is eagerly anticipating this chance to perform for his fans and bring in some new converts.
After sweeping all local and some international charts in 2008, Nuh Linga was put in rotation on Hot 97, two months ago and subsequently danced its way into the Billboard Chart. The song made its debut at number 100 on the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Singles & Tracks chart at the end of April and soon moved up 16 places.
Other big names on slated to perform on the show are Mary J. Blige, T-Pain, The Dream, Young Jeezy, JadaKiss, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. Also representing the dancehall are Mavado and Serani.
GOT MOJO? TAKES TO THE SKY WITH, JET BLUE AND JTB
It could very well be called Mojo’s first solo flight, and what a soar he made! The Morgan Heritage member, who recently launched his solo career, made a career forward move recently when he was able to climb on a platform and launch his debut solo project in tandem with the Jamaica Tourist Board and Jet Blue Airways.
Mojo who recently celebrated with the JTB and Jet Blue the launch of that airline’s inaugural flight to Jamaica at a function branded Jammin’ in the Sky.
Mojo was the only act to perform at the event to officially mark JetBlue Airways’ new service from New York to Jamaica, which commenced on May 21.
The singer was the special guest performer at the private launch in New York City the evening of May 20, at this invitation-only event which was attended by over 400 members of press, tastemakers, JetBlue executives, and JTB officials.
Mojo, who grew up in the USA, but who now resides in Jamaica, has managed to incorporate his American side with his Jamaican roots, and JetBlue is also bringing these two worlds together. So the launch of Mojo’s CD at the function was ideal.
Mojo says he is very happy at the way things worked out and the use of this platform to launch his CD is indeed a boost.
“This was a plus for me as it gave me the perfect opportunity to showcase the album to a wide cross section of people. And it was really a thrill to see how well it was received,” a very excited Mojo declared.
Got Mojo? has also been launched on all online sales platforms.

FLIPPA MAFIA AND BOUNTY KILLER UNFINISHED HOUSE
Flippa Mafia performed at the Best of the Best concert in Miami over the weekend, making a direct reference to Bounty Killer as he closed his set with Unfinished House. He explained why he did such a truncated set at the event and where his lyrical feud with Bounty Killer is headed.
“Mi do three songs and cut because mi never pleased, dem turn down the mike pon me because Jabba and Bounty Killer dem a friend. Mi walk onstage wid ’Mi No Waan No Man Like Me’, then me do Dem Yah and get a nice response. Then mi do Unfinished House and mi say ‘Bounty Killer ah hype over Unfinished House’ and left the stage. Since him ah tek it up on him head, mi just do it,” Flippa said.
“The song was never about Bounty Killer, the only song mi do directly for Bounty Killer was Walk Wid Liquor because Bounty walk wid Hennessy and mi see Notnice dem tek it up so mi do a song about it. I have a next song called Mi No Fraida Dem on the Style Dem riddim that sick too. Three quarter of the man dem fraida Killa, but mi nah war wid Killa, mi ah the flossing king, mi nah stop be me, I am not a clash deejay, but mi nah back down from Killa.”
Flippa said he respected Bounty Killer as an ‘elder’ in the business and for his contribution to the music industry but he would not back down from a challenge.
“Him no like see yute shine, him cannot be happy for them and stop bad mind dem especially if a yute nah say Alliance. Killer is not anymore elder than me in the business, ah just through mi never get the break like him. Mi deejay ah Sting inna 1991, ask Killer if him ever work at Coney Park. Buju Banton call me up over de and mi call up Little Wicked, and mi de round Capleton before him rass and me ah the only one around him from dem time de who never ras when him say rastafari. So Killa is no more elder than me, if him diss me, me ah go diss him back.”
Word on the street is that Bounty Killer promised that the Flippa friction is far from over when he remarked at the party: “mi no fight my war a foreign, wait till yu reach ah Jamaica’.
“Bounty Killer is a talker, if yu stand up to him, him back down. Mi nah follow up Killer. Him call mi name over Best of the Best and get boo. Anno walk over ting, and when the war start, anno talk over ting. Eye for an eye, tooth fi a tooth,” Flippa said confidently.
Flippa Mafia scored two top ten hits, including the breakout hit, Dem Yah and Dem Yah. He has continued that torrid pace with the hit, Unfinished House which is vaulting up the Jamaica Music Countdown charts.
“I want to change my life, music inna me from day one. Mi used to name Little Flippa, ask Admiral Bailey from dem time de, mi used to pick up bottle after Heatwave dance ah Waterhouse, mi love the music. Mi grow up poor but mi used to clothes, mi uncle was Zion Dread, one of the biggest higglers pon Princess Street, downtown. But right now, the world is in crisis, and me ah try tell the yutes dem fi make money and enjoy themselves, dem nuh haffi sell out dem soul, just see things in a different way, and enjoy yu life. Mi no proud of certain things inna mi life, but mi a try change and elevate myself. So why that must be a problem to Killer. Him no respect people and how hard dem have to work fi mek dem money.”

NUH LINGA DANCES INTO BILLBOARD CHART
The flamboyant Elephant Man, known for taking dancing and excitement to new heights in the dancehall is the toast of many cities across North America as his single and dance of the same name is making crazy leaps on the Billboard Chart. Nuh Linga which muscled its way to the top of every chart locally, now seem set to explode overseas and the Energy God couldn’t be more pleased.
According to the deejay’s management team, Nuh Linga was put in rotation on New York radio station, Hot 97, two months ago and the constant spins have surely paid off. Nuh Linga danced its way into the ‘bible’ of entertainment charts, Billboard. It made its debut at number 100 on the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Singles & Tracks chart at the end of April and now sits at number 84, moving up 16 places.
“Nuh Linga is just a dynamic song … it tek the place and fans just love the dance move. Father Elephant strikes again. Mucho mucho caliente!” the flamboyant Elephant Man declared.
Elephant Man is no stranger to the Billboard charts. He has already charted with titles including Shake that Body featuring PI, Signal the Plane, Jook Gal (Wine Wine), Pon Di River Pon Di Bank, Father Elephant and Don’t Stop with Janet Jackson. The deejay received the ultimate stamp of approval from the music industry last year when he was nominated for a Grammy award for his Bad Boy/VP Records album Let’s Get Physical.
The Energy God was nominated for the first time and while he didn’t receive the award, the nomination was an excellent image booster. Elephant, who is one of the performers on this year’s Reggae Sumfest, is also scheduled to perform at Best of the Best showcase on Sunday at Miami’s Bicentennial Park. Produced by JBJ Entertainment, this year’s roster showcases artistes who are at the top of their game, in their respective genres, in Caribbean and urban music.
Lady Saw & Elephant Man to Join Mr. Vegas on Up Deh Riddim Project
The surging popularity of Mr. Vegas' gospel-flavoured single Up Deh
has caught everyone by surprise, including Mr. Vegas, whose other
gospel single, I Am Blessed, is already a bonafide chart hit, bolting
up all major reggae charts here and overseas.
The popularity of 'Up Deh' could be considered as a pleasant surprise
or 'brawta' (unexpected bonus), as it is known in the local parlance.
"The Up Deh song is huge. I thought that I Am Blessed was the song,
but Up Deh is gaining momentum everywhere and more people are
requesting it even more on the radio, it ah play hard so I am
pleasantly surprised at this development," Mr. Vegas said.
The popularity of 'Up Deh' has inspired Mr. Vegas to use the rhythm
track to create a musical project and he has approached two of his
superstar friends to join him on the rhythm.
The rhythm project will appear on Vegas' own Clifford Ray label.
"I've given the riddim to Lady Saw and to Elephant Man for them to do
gospel songs as well. We're going to turn it into a juggling riddim
that should do quite well this summer," he said.
Vegas has an uncanny knack of making hits. After jumping into the
spotlight with Nike Air, his next single, "Heads High", had a
successful chart run in the UK and a #69 peak on the Billboard R & B
chart. In 1998, his debut album, Heads High, was released, which hit
#5 on the US Reggae chart. Vegas won a MOBO for Best Reggae Artist for
the Heads High album as well. 2000's single "Hot Gal Today" was a
minor hit on the US R&B charts, peaking at #66.

NIKKI Z in response to the Malicious and Fictitious article written on another website
This is in response to the Malicious and Fictitious article written on a Dancehall/Reggae website in regards to an incident that took place on May 16th 2009. I currently am the Entertainment Director at Clipper's II and trendy new Hot Spot in Queens and was giving the Hosting Duties for a Show Entitled "It's It's It's Serani" The show was scheduled to begin 1am but due to the late entry of the crowd, it was running extremely late. From about 1:30 till a little past 3am I was Hosting on the mic while Hell Razor was selecting. At this time a young lady who I now understand is named Sami came on the stage and proceeded to start to play music, after stating something to Hell Razor he then cam e and took the Microphone that was in my hand and began to MC while she in turn selected. This was not a problem... After 5-10 minutes proceeded I was approached by people affiliated with show and that the artist was ready and to call up an artist Name Rushaun who was to perform before Serani. I asked if the artist was sure he was ready and if the music was lined up and they responded with yes "They are Ready now" as the shows host it is my duty to comply with what I am being told in regards to the show program. So at that time I had a second mic that Yard Vibes Sound provided to me and began to start the show. At this point no words were exchanged between I and Sami but after I started the program Sami then attempted to snatch the mic very aggressively out of my hand. Out of shock my first reaction was to push her off of my hand and she then fell back. Security among others then intervened and escorted her off of the stage very abruptly. The show began without another interruption, Sami even entered back on stage to retrieve her things and once again we passed each other but without a word exchange or problem. The article stated security prevented her from coming back... but yet she did!... The article stated I took away "Her" mic.... she never had a mic Hell Razor did! The article quoted that I told security to let her go... I am the Entertainment Director at this new hot spot, if I wanted that to happen it would have. I am constantly villianized no matter what the situation is and most times I remain silent and except the hand that is being dealt to me but this time I refuse. If as a DJ you feel your time is cut short then talk to me as a person much less a woman, what you won't do is put your hands on me as if you feel I am someone to push over. If you want proper play time sorted out, show up for the event on time! Clubs have to close at 4am in Queens. How can you expect to get full play time if you start after 3am the people paid to see Serani it was his name on the flyer and he the patrons paid for. You were not on the flyer or advertisement so as a bonus play early... play Prime time even 2am 2:30 but to expect to get full time during showtime is ludicrous and unreasonable. Right now I represent my family I represent Irie Jam 93.5 I represent Busy Radio in CT I represent Road Block Radio and I represent Caribbean Hot 30 (Which air on 16 radio Stations in the Caribbean) What I don't represent is childishness, foolishness, hype and friggery! This was an attempt in my opinion by someone who felt they had something to prove verses someone who came to cater to patrons. But all they proved is that the DIVA SHALL NOT BE MOVED!!! I have arrived NYC and I am not going anywhere!!

BAR-BEE FOR LOS ANGELES SHOW JUNE 12
The hard work put into her career is paying off as Barb-Bee is now getting shows all over the place. Things could never be better for the singer who first made a big impact on the music scene with her combination single with Junior Kelly Missing You.
But now music lovers are seeing her in her own strength as a talented singer. With the release of tracks such as Paddy Cake, and the mega popular Love You Anyway, Bar-Bee is showing that she has what it takes to make her name in the highly competitive business of music.
On June 12 will be joining other reggae stalwarts at the Shatto Ballroom in Los Angeles which includes Junior Reid, Andrew and Wada Blood, Shinehead, Lukie D, Galaxy P and others.
Bar-Bee’s latest single a Karyn White cover, Can I Stay With You is now receiving a big buzz on the scene. As she looks ahead it’s more great song and lots more vibes from the singer.

Mr. Vegas 'I Am Blessed' Hits #1 on BBC chart
Mr. Vegas hit the #1 spot on the BBC 1 Xtra dancehall chart this week with his smash hit, I Am Blessed, toppling Busy Signal’s Praise and Worship and outshining Laden ‘s Time To Shine. In the meantime, the single continues to vault up local charts, hovering at #3 on the Jamaica Music Countdown charts and at #4 on the HYPE TV charts.
“When the song starts picks up on those reggae overseas chart, then you know it is a hit tune, there is no doubt about the appeal and popularity of the song...it’s a genuine hit. I performed it in Brooklyn over the weekend, and I passed through Squeeze’s Rock the Mic show on Monday, and the song created a big vibe with the people, it connect big time,” Vegas said
Vegas flirted briefly with the idea of retirement last year, but has revamped his management structure and is ready to go at it again. He has hired a new manager, Khool head honcho Ray Alexander, while jettisoning Irish and Chin, his former managers. The singjay is now turning his attention towards a Summer tour and the completion of his new album.
“I am working on the album right now, we’re trying to get the right label or distribution deal possible so that the album can do well. A lot of mistakes were made with that last album, and that was a big album. So we want to straighten out the business side of the creative process, so that the album can get the necessary shelf space and do well in the marketplace,” he said.
Vegas has an uncanny knack of making hits. After jumping into the spotlight with Nike Air, his next single, "Heads High", had a successful chart run in the UK and a #69 peak on the Billboard R & B chart. In 1998, his debut album, Heads High, was released, which hit #5 on the US Reggae chart. Vegas won a MOBO for Best Reggae Artist for the Heads High album as well. 2000's single "Hot Gal Today" was a minor hit on the US R&B charts, peaking at #66.
In 2001, he issued Damn Right, featuring guest appearances from Shaggy and Big Yard. This album went to #2 on the US Reggae chart. 2004 saw the release of the Pull Up LP, and the title track scraped the bottom of the Billboard Top 200, peaking at #98 (as well as #68 on the R&B chart). In 2007, his Tek Weh Yuself song on the Dutch Pot riddim was named as one of the top 50 songs of the year by Vibe magazine.
MOJO HAPPY AS TRACKS PICKED UP BY NIKE, APPROVED BY STING
With the members of internationally acclaimed sibling group, Morgan Heritage focusing for a while on solo projects, one brother, Mojo seems to be definitely on the right track.
Mojo’s rasta-rock solo debut album, Got Mojo? is considered to have hit the ground running as it is already causing people to sit up and take a listen. Hard on the heels of the recent official iTunes release of the album, May 29 signaled the premiere of Mojo as the featured artiste for the Nike Women™ promo campaign.
An elated Mojo explained that “While sifting through the audio seas, the folks over at Nike were pulled into the Mojo stream of consciousness and decided to feature the track Tonight, on the audio player.”
Mojo’s music now accompanies advertisements for the new Nike iD that tell people to, “pop, lock and rock it your way”.
Mojo also just received the blessing from Sting to use the name Roxanne for his cover of the legendary song by The Police.
“Although this is a cover version, this song,” Mojo said, “is all-together ‘Mojo-fied’.”
Got Mojo? was the #1 most added on the CMJ New World Chart.

Energy God: The Very Best of the Elephant Man
When it gets too serious in the reggae/dancehall world, deejay Elephant Man can always be counted on to bring some amount of comic relief and lots of dance and fashion to balance out things. Ele recently rocked the Digicel media party at FOrt Clarence with a one-of-akind performance that had many commenting that they never knew he had so much energy. Guess that’s why he’s called the Energy god.
The latest release from Ele on the VP is entitled Energy God: The Very Best of the Elephant Man, the CD contains all of Ele’s more recent hits including Pon de river, Pon de bank, Signal de plane, Willie Bounce, Gully Creepa, Nuh linga, Sweep, Tall up tall up, Bun bad mind and Gangsta Rock.
“If you saw me today you are never gonna forget me … my hair, my clothes, my style..I’m crazy man, I’m the Energy God. Father of the Dancehall.... Elephant Man.”
That, simply put, is the boisterous Elephant Man in his very own words.
Elephant Man will be one of the performers on stage at Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night and the artiste is all set to to make Sumfest memorable for his fans. and all we can say is “mucho mucho caliente … tranquello”.

VYBZ KARTEL NO-SHOW AT COURT
Deejay Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer was a no-show at the Black River Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he should have appeared in a civil case brought against him by radio personality GT Taylor.
The deejay is being sued for breach of contract and the return of $150’000 which he was reportedly given as part payment for his appearance on a show put on by Taylor in St. Elizabeth last December. The matter is set for mention on June 3.
When the matter was called up only Taylor and his attorney, Donald Gittens, were present for the case. Gittens, however, told the court that he was telephoned by Kartel’s attorney, Seymour Stewart, who told him that his client was putting the money together for repayment.
GT is suing Kartel for his non-appearance on the popular GT Taylor’s Christmas Extravaganza show which was held on December 25 last year at Independence Park in Black River.
MAMA 2 DI WERL
By: Maria A. Hitchins
If you don’t have a ‘mama tune’ in your catalogue you nah say noting, it no matter what else you bring, just write two verse, a chorus a mama hook and start sing.
Sizzla’s “tank u mama”, Merciless “mama a di greatest”, and most recently Kartel and Vegas mama tributes. You no see it, dem careers never did complete even though they long been performing in the streets.
There is always that soft spot for mama, the family nurturer and caregiver to all, she at times is a soldier, back broad, ever standing tall.
But what happen to the fathers? It seems a common story dem ever missing in action, well excepting at the time of conception. I hope these artistes will break the cycle with their own kids, and stick around long after dem stop wear bibs.
Mother’s Day is one of the biggest commercial days, so I guess it’s no surprise that a mama tune can tek to di charts and blaze. Maybe anyone looking for a quick comeback should do just that.
Big up my mama and yours, hopefully recession will still allow us to show appreciation and do a mini splurge.

JAH CURE ‘THE UNIVERSAL CURE’ #2 ON BILLBOARD
Peaking at number 2 last week on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums Chart with his newly released potent ‘The Universal Cure’, the man who is considered one of the high priests of reggae has a lot to be happy about.
“It is a really good feeling with all that has been happening,” said Jah Cure. “I anticipated this so long ago and now it has come true. This has been years in the making. It feels great and can only get better.”
The charismatic singer said, “It’s good to be free, my spirit is free and I am free to soar to the top. I feel alive again.”
Admitting that ‘The Universal Cure’ is probably his greatest album to date, the singer said he is proud of it and, like the rest of the world, touts it as one of the best reggae albums of the year.
Produced by SoBe Entertainment and Danger Zone Music Group and distributed by Fontana and Universal Music Group, ‘The Universal Cure’ is also topping several international charts and its lead off single ‘Call On Me’ featuring the talented Phyllisia is enjoying massive success.
“Music is my life,” Jah Cure added. “Music is here to cure, it is healing, soothing to the soul, and like my name says, I am here to do just that with my music.”
Fans, especially the ladies, can listen out for a brand new track that will be sure to rock their world. Tentatively titled ‘Love You To The End Of Time’, the soulful single features Jah Cure, Stephen & Damian Marley along with Christopher Ellis (son of Alton Ellis).
“Jah Cure is here for the ladies, they are always at the forefront of everything I do,” said the ladies man. “I am a crooner for the ladies which is evident in lots of my songs. So ladies, Jah Cure is coming at you with another love song, this time with friends. Listen out for ‘Love You To The End Of Time’.”
With his usual charming self, he added with a laugh, “It’s a proven fact that the most ladies come to stage shows when Jah Cure is on it. So to all my ladies, muah, a big kiss and lots of love.”
What is he aiming for these days? “To top the Billboard 100 chart, to sell multi-platinum with ‘The Universal Cure’, to win a Grammy, to tour the universe, to take the universal cure across the world, to keep thrilling my ladies and all my fans out there, especially those who have been giving me crazy calls wanting to see me in their part of the world,” he declared.
The singer hits the Bahamas this weekend for an expected sold out event, which leads into other Caribbean events, as he prepares for a planned European and African tour later in the year.
He closed, “I love what is happening. Thanks to The Almighty, my fans, Danger Zone, SoBe, thanks to everyone. Love to the people for the support and thanks for the strength. Jah Cure is taking the cure to the universe.”

MR. VEGAS TO HOST MOTHER'S DAY CONCERT ON MAY 9TH
I Am Blessed singjay Mr. Vegas will be hosting a Mother's Day concert at Club Jamaica Jamaica in Runaway Bay on May 9th. It is a highly anticipated event where the Billboard-charting artiste can really
show his appreciation to mothers all over Jamaica.
The singjay, who recently performed at a huge concert in Orlando alongside R & B heavyweights such as Ron Browz and Billboard-topping rapper Soulja Boy, is reportedly locked away in rehearsals fine-tuning
his sound for the concert. He will be backed by his own band, Thugz on the night of the event.
"They have been rehearsing at Mikey Bennett's studio on Grafton Road, and everyone is impressed with the set that Mr. Vegas has put together," manager Ray Alexander said in a release.
"Earlier this week, during a rehearsal session, he did an a capella of Mama with backup singers, Nicky and Tameka, that had tears streaming down the eyes of everyone in the studio, Vegas seems to be going all out with this concert.
It will be the artiste's last performance in Jamaica before he embarks on a four week tour of major European cities which begins on July 17th. He will break for a one-off date on July 25th for a gig in
Rochester, New York, and then return to Europe to complete the tour. The singer will not return to Jamaica until August 25th.
In the meantime, the singjay’s latest song, Mama Don’t Cry for Me, directed by accomplished director Winston Mayhew, has been getting rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
“It’s a really amazing video that the Jamaican people can gravitate towards especially with Mother’s Day around the corner, and the response has been phenomenal so far,” Mr. Vegas said.
The singjay has been in awesome form during his recent live performances, performing in US states such as California, Minnesota and in France.

LUST COULD DO NO WRONG AT TAKE ME AWAY
Take Me Away was the ultimate singers’ showcase and, with an audience just waiting to be entertained, the all-male quartet, LUST could do no wrong.
The four – Lukie D, Trilla U, Tony Curtis and Singing Melody – were unstoppable. Well rehearsed, full of drive and ready to excite their fans, LUST was in the mood for love and this came out forcefully in their choice of songs. You’re My Inspiration, Do You Love Me, Brokenhearted Melodies, Loneliness Stays on My Mind were among the hits that they chose to bring the audience to its knees … and it worked like magic.
The group was one of the top acts performing on Take Me Away, the show promoted by fellow artiste Richie Stephens at the Cable and Wireless Golf Academy in New Kingston on Sunday.
From the moment they stepped on stage, well-groomed for the occasion, LUST took charge, and, in their inimitable style, charmed the audience out of their seats. They sang, danced, showed off their versatility with an acapella performance on one song and sent the audience into a frenzy with their Song of the Year for 2008, Just As I Am.
It was as if the promoters knew that the audience would not have been satisfied with seeing LUST just once, so it was a well thought out move to bring them back a second time. After an interlude in which comedian Blakka Ellis humoured the audience, LUST made their triumphant return, this time with Richie Stephens for a dramatic segment called Secret Garden. Again, they brought fans to their knees.
Also on the line-up were Jeffrey Osbourne, Gem Myers, Gregory Isaacs, Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles and Stevie Face. Backing band was Masterpiece.
STEVIE FACE IMPRESSES AT TAKE ME AWAY
Singer Stevie Face made excellent use of his 15 minutes on stage at the Pot of Gold-promoted Take Me Away showcase last Sunday night. It was one of those shows tailor made for singers and the artiste, who was one of the opening acts, gave a brilliant start to the evening.
From the moment he stepped on stage at the Cable and Wireless Gold Academy in New Kingston, Stevie Face was a winner. Obviously paying close attention to his wardrobe, he could easily have been a contender for the ‘Best Dressed’ award and when he opened his mouth to sing for his ladies, he just took their breaths away.
He had been commissioned to sing three songs and that’s exactly what he did, no hesitation, no dramatics. Naturally, he had to do his number one song, Tell It Like It Is, the re-make of the Aaron Neville blockbuster hit. And truly, it never sounded better. The audience came to life as the artiste sang his way into their hearts and surely converted a host of new fans.
And the reaction upped a notch when he closed with I Want to Wake Up With You.
At the end of his performance, Stevie Face left his audience totally satisfied.
In a post-show interview, he noted that this was one show that he had thoroughly enjoyed. "The production was first class, the fans embraced me and the performances have been excellent," he commented.
Also on the line-up were headliner Jeffrey Osbourne, promoter Richie Stephens, LUST, Gem Myers Gregory Isaacs, Ken Boother and Leroy Sibbles. Singer Frankie Paul did a cameo. Backing band was Masterpiece.
Mr Gallimore a hit in Trinidad
After delivering a solid performance in Trinidad over the Easter Weekend gospel singer Mr Gallimore is back in the island.
The gospel DJ performed to a receptive audience inside the Mobs 2 venue at one of Trinidad’s biggest gospel festival.
Gallimore who recently signed a production deal with the P&W Music team, turned back the hands of time with songs such as Sick in Yah and Never Lukewarm, with the latter finding particular favour with the crowd after its dominance of the twin islands airwaves.
Newer anthems such as Brokenness to Victory and Prayer also registered well with the audience.
Chat! caught up with the gospel DJ who expressed his pleasure at his experience there. “It was a real blessing for me to be able to bring my ministry to the people there (Trinidad). It was my first time in Trinidad and so I was really happy with the reception that the ministry received....the people reacted well,” said Gallimore.
Now back home Gallimore is in the studio putting the finishing touch on his upcoming album Brokenness to victory. The album is expected to be ready for the summer with tracks such as Pray, Not A Competition and Perv.
