ANTICIPATION HIGH FOR BEENIE SIZZLE ON SATURDAY

As preparation for the LIME Beenie Man Sizzle stage show slips into high gear, anticipation is mounting for legions of Beenie Man fans who want to attend the annual concert featuring heavyweight dancehall and hip hop acts.

The expectation is heightened given the fact that thousands of persons are vying for a limited number of complimentary tickets in a Beenie Ultimate Fan competition. Beenie Man’s fans can participate by texting the word K-I-N-G to 444-4280. Each text costs $80.

“All the entries go into a pool, and then LIME will call and ask those persons selected one question, for instance, what does the L in LIME stand for? And then if they answer correctly, they will win two
tickets to LIME Beenie Sizzle,” Devon Hunter, LIME’s sponsorship manager said.

The show will be held this Saturday August 22 at the National Stadium.

There are also plans to have ticket giveaways during LIME motorcades planned for Mandeville on Thursday, Kingston on Friday and Portmore on Saturday.

“The motorcades will promote Beenie Sizzle as well as have a family component. Between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m, there will be contests such as a dance contest where people will be challenged to do the LIME dance, and those who are successful can win t-shirts, a Blackberry flip, and there will also be ticket giveaways,” Mr. Hunter said.

Each motorcade will also feature an entertainment component between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. with performances by established artistes as well as talent from the local community.

“Beenie Man will also give away computers. On Thursday, he will be giving away a computer to the McIntosh Primary in Manchester and a computer to the Mandeville Police station. On Friday, he will be
giving two computers to the special crime unit at the Half Way Tree Police station,” Mr. Hunter said.

The special presentation to the Half Way Tree Police Station will be made on Friday, August 21st at 12:30 p.m and the press is invited to attend.

The ticket outlets for the show are the National stadium, L.G. Brown at Dunrobin Avenue, Esso service station in Liguanea, Genus pharmacy in Portmore, Avery's Concepts on Molynes Road, Heaven's Texaco, Total in Ocho Rios and the Musiq Bar in Montego Bay.

The gates open at 6 p.m, and the show kicks off at 8 p.m.

  1. Anticipation high and they're giving away 5000 tickets? What would they be doing if anticipation is low then? This show could be in trouble its the most quiet promotion i have seen of a concert with such huge line up.
