IS DJ NINJA KID LOOKING HYPE?

It was in the early nineties that the deejay ninja Kid enjoyed a measure of success and made his name in the dancehall. Although he has not scored any hits in recent times, the deejay says he seems to be a target for other artistes to hit on lyrically.
First, it was Mr. Vegas who singled him out in a recent song, saying he “wears fake Gucci” and then the Flossing King Flippa Mafia called Ninja Kid’s name in a song dissing Elephant Man. And Ninja Kid says that now that he has responded “all hell break loose” as he has been “getting page from man who claim say dem connected to Flippa.”
According to Ninja Kid, “Flippa diss mi in a song and say me a Ele girl, so me make a tune bout him and now man no stop page me and all a send death threat,” Ninja Kid told Chat!
Flippa Mafia, however, says he has absolutely nothing to do with any such threats.
“In my song I said, ‘Ele nuh want Sydonnie, a Ninja Kid him want’ because Ninja Kid took my name to Ele and that to me was a very girlish kind of a behavior. I hear that Ninja Kid do a tune, but to tell the truth I don’t even listen to it yet because I am just too busy promoting my show in Philly to focus on that right now,” Flippa told Chat! in a telephone conversation from Philadelphia.
“I know nothing about those threats that Ninja Kid say he is getting,” Flippa emphasized. “I say things about people in my songs, so I suppose dem going to say back things in their songs. Is just music. But, could it be that Ninja Kid is looking hype?” he quizzed.
According to Ninja Kid, his song Defend It, done on the same riddim as Flipp’s song, was “leaked” on the internet over the weekend and since then he has been “paged” continuously.
“Three people in the business all tell me that Flippa call dem and tell them that him a go do mi things. But Flippa fuss diss me….. and him fi know a just music,” he said.
Ninja Kid noted that Ele had told him to leave it alone and not put out the counteraction tune, but his other friends urged him to do it.
“Him can’t do tune say me a Ele girl and me nuh defend it,” Ninja Kid explained. He added that he had also answered the other song in which his name was called, but nothing came of that.
“Dem have me as a gay pon di tune. And me neva deh pon no tape like some artiste,” the deejay who came to prominence with the song Boom Bye Bye (Between Di Girls Dem Legs) declared spiritedly. In the mean time, Flippa has replaced Elephant Man with Portmore Empire young giants Jah Vinci and Black Ryno for Philly Summer Fest, to be held on September 7 at the Wall Street Courtyard in Philadelphia, USA.
