Fast rising female dancehall artiste Ikaya is set to perform in Trinidad on Saturday. The Outaroad female DJ will be in action at Queens Park Savannah, Port of Spain along with Tarrus Riley, Romain Virgo and Merciless.
“With all the negativity surrounding dancehall right now, it feels good to be able to represent in other parts of the Caribbean,” said Ikaya about her upcoming performance this weekend.
On May 21 Ikaya will kick off the first of four dates in Canada at the Sunrise Banquet Hall. There she will be sharing the stage with Merciless and Face.
Although it is definitely not her first performance in Canada, Ikaya says she is anticipating taking the stage there. “I am getting a lot of love from the Canadian dancehall fans. It feels good to see how receptive they are to my songs,” she said.
Speaking of songs, Ikaya is currently enjoying good rotation with her latest singles Money Ova Man and Recession.
“Recession seen to have hit the right notes where listeners are concerned. I have been getting some positive feedback on the single,” she commented.
