Gliding on a solo career, Mojo Morgan of sibling group, Morgan Heritage, recently released his debut CD, Got Mojo?, to much fanfare.
A soothing and evocative blend of reggae, hip-hop, and other musical influences, Got Mojo? has been described as ‘Rasta Rock’.
Following a high profile launch in New York recently, the album is making moves in cyberspace through online distribution channels.
According to the artiste’s team, however, they are now in discussions with a hard copy distributor for the product.
Simultaneously, Got Mojo? is enjoying a lot of love from radio.
Reports are that after almost two months, some 125 stations have now added the album to their playlist. Of those, 43 stations now have the CD in Heavy or Medium rotation.
Another point of contact is the music charts which have already picked up on the CD.
Got Mojo? held on to the #37 slot on JazzWeek World, up from #83 the previous week; it grabbed the #37 & #38 positions on the Media Guide Reggae Songs and #21 Media Guide Reggae Albums.
Mojo will appear on Reggae Sumfest International Night I on Friday July 24 as part of the group, Morgan Heritage. The festival runs from July 19 – 25 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
