Duane happy with soon-to-be-released video for Money Love
Conscious singer and talented song-writer, Duane Stephenson recently concluded the filming of his new music video, Money Love, and according to the artiste, he is quite pleased with the project.
The single of the same name has been getting its fair share of love from radio and has been warmly embraced by reggae/dancehall fans. With the positive feedback that Duane and his team have been receiving, they took the decision to proceed with a music video which will certainly drive the popularity of Money Love.
The video shoot, which took place two weeks ago, was done at various locations including the Polo Lounge at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Cable Hut Beach at Bull Bay and also at Donald Sinclare's wholesale on Tower Street in Downtown Kingston.
“We had a lot of fun working on this project,” Duane recalls. “The vibes were right, the actors and directors were in tune and everybody understood their role, so that enabled things to run smoothly,” said the singer who has been penning lyrics since the age of 14.
Duane, who has written for artists such as Luciano, Morgan Heritage and most notable Jah Cure, for whom he wrote and produced the mega-hit, True Reflections, is known for becoming totally absorbed in his work, almost to the exclusion of everything else. He just concluded work on his follow-up to his blockbuster debut album, August Town, a VP Records project.
Money Love is one of the singles from the new album and, the title is self-explanatory. “Endless songs have been written about money and love,” Duane says, adding with a shake of his head, “and this is just my contribution to a topic that will always evoke a lot of emotion.”
The video, which was directed by Brian Roberts of Honest Illusions Media, with assistance from Rohan Miller and Asha, is in the final stages of production and will have its premiere next week.
