Dancehall Superstar Shaggy will be premiering his "Bad Man Don't Cry" video at Mass Camp this Saturday
Shaggy and Jay Will bring you yet another thriller. Bad Man Don’t Cry was shot entirely in Jamaica, which features a variety of Jamaican celebrities in the cast. The video tells a story of a Don and his right hand man (Shaggy) who is messing around his girl. It so happens that Shaggy the Mr. Lover, Lover deejay falls in love with the Don’s sweetheart and could not control his emotions so he had to seek counseling. By this time, the Don has already had a hunch that someone in his organization is messing around with his girl so he goes on a rampage trying to figure out who exactly it was.
The new video Bad Man Don't Cry is a hotter video than Church Heathen. If you liked what you saw on Church Heathen you will like this one even more.
This video has a star studded cast of celebrities all playing unique roles within the story line of the video. The tune is different and the video goes along well with intense drama and surprises every 30 seconds throughout. This is the director Jay Will, "best music video so far
Love You Any video premieres tonight on TVJ
The video for singer Barbee’s hot single Love You Anyway will be premiered tonight on TVJ’s ER at 8:00 pm. The video was shot on locations in New York and Hedonism III in Jamaica under the direction of Cinemania Khiny in New York and Tariq Zawdie in Jamaica.
The single which is produced by Garfield Webb and Sean Due of It’s Not A Game (ING) Records, since it’s release has been taken off both locally and on the international scene. The song is currently #20 on the New York Top 30 Singles Chart and #13 on the South Florida Top 20 Singles chart.
The song is also enjoying good rotation on the local scene. Barbee in an earlier conversation said the single saw her “extending herself” in it.
"This is exactly where I wanna be. Not have people pulling strings as if I'm a puppet, not being animated as if I'm a cartoon. This song has real emotions and feelings in it. So everyone can relate."
The listening public seemed to have caught on to the good vibes she has about the single as many are still amazed that it’s really her singing the song. Among the many comments she has received is that the song has an international feel to it and that she sounds “different”.
Meet the versatile Mojo Morgan
Surrounded by sessions of intense vocal and instrumental training, Mojo Morgan, of Morgan Heritage fame, has been exposed to everything -- from the godfathers of roots reggae to top 40 American radio: everything from Sade and Bryan Adams to The Cranberries and Hootie and The Blowfish.
It is these musical influences, which have formed a new direction for Mojo Morgan’s solo career. Although Mojo is from a roots Reggae band, he is heavy influenced by rock ’n roll and hip-hop. One hears that influence when listening to the body of songs he’s been working on in the studio.
Among the singles is the herbsman anthem, on which he teams up with the late great Peter Tosh on the classic, Igziabeher (Let Jah Be Praised), making this a must-have for every herbalist out there as well as a critical comment on current politics in Jamaica and abroad.
Mojo’s MC skills take on a bigger presence than ever before with Mr Francois. The impassioned track remembers a regrettable marijuana bust in Europe that left Morgan Heritage and a member of its crew in hot water.
He explains, “I felt so guilty, and wrote this song that blew everyone on the tour away, and even brought tears to their eyes, because of how true the song is. That’s why I call my music ‘life music’, it’s not just gimmicks and ‘sex you up’.
I write love songs and different types of music, but the majority of the time I try and make my music relate to anyone,” he says.
Then there’s Reggae Avenue which brings together punk rock and the reggae roots that make Mojo Morgan who he is. The song is about pioneers of both rock and reggae music, but reaches far beyond the boundaries of music by expressing the need to pay respect and homage to those that paved the way.
“No matter what your profession in life, there was someone that came before you to make your journey easier. The question is; what will you do to make it easier for those to follow you?” quizzes Mojo.

I-Octane and Spragga team up for powerful social commentary
Cultural singer I-Octane combines with Spragga Benz to deliver yet another social commentary entitled Hurt Mi. The song tackles the crime and violence that is taking place in the society right now. “It hurt mi, youth missing, one more youth caan find. It hurt mi when mi hear mama bawl,” chants the duo.
The single which was recorded two weeks ago is already getting a lot of airplay, but that’s not surprising as the message is timely and to the point. Listening to the track you can hear the pain and anguish coming through in Octane and Spragga’s voices as they express the hurt they feel with what’s happening in the society right now.
Produced by Junior Arrows the song was recorded on the Arrows Production label and is expected to be released in a couple of weeks.
Hurt Mi is yet another social commentary from I-Octane who recently rapped about society’s ills with his red hot single Different Page, a song which is still enjoying good rotation on the radio and huge forwards in the dances

Vybz Kartel, Bugle and Spice ruled in Guyana
(By Mondale Smith Entertainment Editor Guyana Times)
Kudos to Conscious Minds promotions for staging the energy packed 'November to Remember' showcase at the National Stadium Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Hours before the show the heavens down pour threatened the event and many who had initially showed interest in attending changed their minds to avoid the soggy venue but by Showtime it's' hands were kind.
While the crowd was not as mammoth as was the case for previous promotions the thousands who turned out have much to talk about thanks to commendable performances from all the artistes.
However, Vybz Kartel and his Portmore crew, Bugle, Spice and to a lesser extent D' Angel were the shining stars.
The Hopper with some reluctance left home at about 23:00hrs and headed to the stadium. Surprisingly upon arrival there seemed a mad rush by scores to get into the venue but hopper took less than five minutes to get after passing the security test.
The sound was impressive and clear but the numbers were now building. Using his privilege the Hopper took up his place within the barricades and watched the show unfold.
For about an hour Deejays with varying degrees of musical dynamism tinged with some amount of inappropriate language entertained and hyped the crowd with the help of the Polar Ice models.
Then at Mid-Night the international show began with the Jamaican Street Flex band in the lead.
A hyperactive Future Fambo burst onto the stage at 12: 07am encouraging patrons to "Shout out Fambo" and the crowd was excited. But after a few minutes of dishing out "me nah want no girl dress like man" and the one time popular "Hiah, Hiah Who" the audience was less than eager and became spectators. Fambo palavered a bit with messages that obviously went over the audiences head until he stated that "Tom drunk not Tom fool."
The audience's demeanour went from static to wild imitations of a drunken man doing the "drunken dance" as the artiste jumped off the stage to the ground and climbed onto the barricade and then up the stage side pole before concluding on the stage.
The Hopper can still hear the ladies singing like an anthem "me's ah gyal me nah fight over man." The men with loud lustful statements went wild and some mounted the security barricades to get closer to the sultriest singer. Without inhibitions the woman's presence grabbed and held onto her audience's interest remained throughout her stage performance that included lessons for women to keep their men in check. Spice added humour to her performance with her version of "survival story' that told a virgin's story. Taking off her shoes to better manoeuvre the stage she registered a message that women can make men run and then boldly sang "me done take you man so what?" Another crowd favourite was "tight daggering" that saw several men clambering to the stage for a chance to get close to the artiste and then it was the ladies turn to show what Guyanese dancers can do. After giving brief lessons in dance moves from Jamaica which included the "gully creeper" and "swipe" it was ballad time. Despite being what some might term lude this artiste proved her vocal versatility by moving from dance hall into a singer mode with a voice to par with Alicia Keys. She did a remix of "everything's gonna be alright" in which she sang "No one can Stop me from achieving" that dumfounded the audience briefly. But being through to her roots Spice went back into dancehall mode and dished "walk out to exit the stage to celebratory applauses and shots for more. The Hopper notes that this artiste holds much promise on either side of the musical fence of being soulfully clean and smooth or being down and dirty.
The Hopper must admit that he does not approve of all of the lyrical content of Vybz Kartel's songs but the man sure knows how to entertain and he certainly has a mega Guyanese fan base. He's like a Caribbean Michael Jackson is the Hopper's honest opinion.
This teacher/entertainer/politician made his way on stage with several protégés at 2: 20hrs Sunday morning and apparently there were no holds barred. The private security personnel could not restrain the ladies some of whom made their way to the stage and ran to grab the artiste screaming uncontrollably
Patrons mounted the barricades by the dozens and packed the VIP area as the artiste that some waited five years to see live on the local shores began his act with the popular "picture me and you."
He followed up with "Good morning sir," "take buddy gyal," "gunshot," "in my life," and "I never." He then went into DJ mode rendering a remix of the hip hop hit "lollipop." He cleared the air on misconceptions and noted that he could not come to Guyana five years ago because of "a little thief name Ice" who he said robbed the GT people. The audience celebrated in the positive when he asked if locals wanted to see him return to the local shores again.
Using every inch of the stage, keeping eye contact with those closes by and sharing quick personal conversations to the ladies he preached life and then delved into the crowd favourite "money feh spend."
Jah Vinchy a port more crew member then joined Kartel with "have to make a stroll/ "We want money to spend.
At 3:00hrs D'Angel was back on stage followed by Slim with too tough for me. Kartel then threw his shirt in the audience and Pandemonium broke out front stage as man and women fought for a piece of the shirt. Most disappointing was the fact that of all the people in the crowd a man with bulging biceps and triceps in a celebratory mood who will never be able to fit in the shirt was waving it in the air. Other good performances came from Erupt, Bugle, Konschen and D’Angle. The show ended minutes to 4:00hrs and there were no major incidences reported.

Lady Saw flexes with fans at Digicel ‘3 After 3’ launch
Digicel customers and dancehall fans were treated to a pleasing performance by the first lady of the dancehall, Lady Saw, at the launch of mobile giant Digicel’s ‘3 After 3 – Free Night’ promotion held recently.
Clad in a simple but elegant pink blouse, pink accessories and jeans pants, the entertainer who sported a natural hairstyle had the gathering at the Digicel store located along the hip strip of New Kingston, in a frenzy.
It was a non-stop show of appreciation for Lady Saw when she came on stage belting out the lyrics of ‘Belvedere Heights’. It was total excitement as the crowd sang along with her. She then went on to give them ‘Chat To Mi Back’ and ‘Man A Lease A Mi Problem’. By this, the gathering was in a dancehall mood and wanted more of what she had to offer. In a suffice way, she wrapped up her segment with her latest hit single ‘Jealous’.
Had it not been a promotional event, Lady Saw’s fans would not have allowed her to exit the stage. She was bombarded by fans who wanted her to sign autographs and take pictures with her. She was very accommodating and interacted with them, held some conversations with persons from Digicel then kicked back for the remainder of the event.
Among the other artistes who performed were the king of the dancehall Beenie Man, the ‘royal one’ Tarrus Riley, D Major, Busy Signal, Black Ryno, Konshens, Digicel Rising Stars past and present acts Christopher Martin, Romaine Virgo, Khalil and Cameal Davis.

Lady G is asking Lovindeer “That Question”
Lady G is definitely one female whose lyrics just "cyaan dun". She might not have a current hit song, but place her on a line-up with any top act and she is sure to hold her own. And when she is put in combination with respected song-writer and when-I-choose-to-be singer, Lloyd Lovindeer, what we have is a song that is a sure winner.
You eat?
You cook?
How you fi answer question with question?
That's the hook of this quietly revealing song coming from the pens of these artistes.
In true Lovindeer style, this one is quite hilarious and the play on words gets quite intense as the two expertly skirt around the issue of oral sex without once mentioning the actual phrase.
The innuendos are priceless and G and Lovindeer go through a charade of eating and cooking that has absolutely nothing to do with food. Lovindeer is quite amusing as he deliberately misunderstands the question and takes her on a winding trail about nourishment and the fact that his dosctor has warned him against fat.
You a follow back a me pee pee cluck cluck
A talk bout how much you want di wuk'
Well mi fit and mi ready fi run di marathon with an adventurous man, is Lady G's affirmation, but the Lovindeer (with the emphasis on the 'Lovin') will have none of it.
She is Ravishing!!
The versatile, sexy and extremely talented Ravish aka Yanique Barrett and Multikiss is the revolution of a brighter tomorrow. At a tender age, Ravish started singing, writing, and acting in school plays but found music to be her true love.
Born Yanique Barrett to Marjorie Gilbert and Carl Barrett, in the Shortwood/Grants Pen area of Kingston, Jamaica, Ravish published her first book ‘Stepping Below Riches’ in 2006, which is doing very well, available at leading bookshops across Jamaica.
As a singjay who specializes in reggae, R&B and pop, Ravish’s over seven years in the music business began with her first recording ‘Mi Nice’ as a teenager, following in the footsteps of her artiste father, Commander Shad.
Writing all her songs, her new releases include ‘Never Let Go’, ‘Mistaken Identity’, ‘Kitty Cat Purr’ and the popular ‘Caah Chat To Me’ (which is getting heavy radio rotation), all for Calibud Music, the label the sexy young lady does all her work with.
She has performed at a number of community events and small gigs, as well as events in Florida. With plans to make her Sting debut this year, the diva is also working on a UK tour for next year.
This confident and focused young lady is also working on her debut album for a 2009 release.
Her style and flair is a mixture of sophistication, sexuality, raw and daring. You will be seeing and hearing a great deal from this progressive artiste on the radio, stage shows and television real soon…and you won’t be disappointed.
“First of all, I put God first in everything I do so He is my number one influence, then myself ‘cause I’m a self-motivator. I admire artistes like Toni Braxton, Diana King, Lady Saw, Bob Marley, Shaggy and several more,” said the sweet singjay.

Mojo contemplates the River Nile
Morgan Heritage member, Mojo, steps out on his own with the single, River Nile, and one can't help but wonder if this is a sign that Mojo intends to pursue a solo career. Quite likely not.
Produced by Donovan Germain on the Penthouse record label, River Nile tells the tale of a married man who gives into temptation and sleeps with a woman. He finds himself in a fatal attraction situation where the outside lady does not want to let go after the man realises he has gone off track. The man holds his ground and eventually does right by his wife.
The song puts a positive spin on this age old malady of married men going astray and Mojo does an excellent job vocally.

Some people are blessed with a special talent, and Mystic is undoubtedly one such person.
A dancer who has been honing her craft from her eyes were at her knees — as the saying goes this young lady is definitely a cut above the rest and she is quietly building a reputation as the one to watch.
The newest sensation in the streets, Mystic initially sought to carve out her own space in the highly competitive dancehall arena, where she jostles with the best both male and female and usually comes out the winner. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that she is one dimensional and can only hold her own in the dancehall, because that couldn’t be further from the truth. She has the talent and is ready, able and versatile enough to take on any genre of music and segue into a dance routine that is sure to mesmerize.
With no formal training, Mystic (and that is her real name) credits her father’s agility as a football coach and her mother’s singing ability — she is the daughter of singer, Joy White — as the combination that gifted with the DNA for dancing. She also gives her older brother his props. It was through watching him and his friends and secretly rehearsing their routine, which she unleashed on them, once she had it perfect that led to her entrĂ©e into the halls of dance.
“After he and his friends realized how good I was, they took me everywhere they went to dance. We would walk miles just to get on a show and then walk miles back home, because we just didn’t have money for cab fares. We did it out of pure love for dancing,” she recalls.
With a passion for choreography, Mystic gained a reputation while at school, both Wolmer’s Girls and Titchfield High as “da bomb”. So it comes as no surprise to those who know her that she was chosen as the lead in a Gnarls Barkley video. And securing this role was no easy feat as it tested every iota of Mystic’s dancing skill, especially since every respected dancer in Jamaica turned up at this audition. “When they told me that I got the part I was so excited,” she recalls. But, with a twist of irony, the lead role didn’t even require her to dance.
But, it was her ticket to the big times and the exposure from that video has been remarkable.
So too has her alliance with Olympic World Record holder and dancing dynamo, Usain Bolt, who never fails to give her props as the person who taught him the Gully Creeper, Nuh Linga and the other dance moves he unleashed on the world this summer in Beijing, China.
Of that relationship, she says, “Usain likes to learn and I like to teach.”
And teaching is really what Mystic does best every time she captures the video light and expertly shows her talent to the world.
